High Pressure Leaching (HPL)

← All Topics

Technological process of dissolving metals by acidic solutions under increased pressure and temperature. For this process, treated material should be finely grained and after that treated by acid media under increased pressure and temperature. Purpose of an increased pressure and temperature is to speed up oxidation of sulphide minerals for easier dissolution by acidic media. Solution after leaching is sent on a further technological process, in order to selectively extract the metals (usually some ion exchange based process).
