Integrated treatment of industrial wastes towards prevention of regional water resources contamination

Project addresses environmental pollution problems associated with solid and liquid wastes/effluents produced by complex sulphide ore mining and metallurgical activities in two Western Balkan countries, in order to develop preventive and remedial technologies aiming at waste minimization, remediation of waste disposal sites and ultimately prevention of the regional water resources contamination.

The strategic objective is the reinforcement of environmental protection as one of the three distinct pillars on which sustainable development for both developed and developing countries is based.

Overall budget 1.162.200,00 €.

The project duration is from  August 2004 – July 2007.
